About Fireside Folk

Fireside Folk is a calm, practical UK household-preparedness publication. We write about power cuts, water, food and the small checks that make a home easier to run when something goes wrong.

We start with what is free, then what is cheap, and we say plainly when a purchase is not worth making.

Our articles are drafted with AI assistance and checked by a person against official UK guidance. How we work.

We pay for the site two ways. We sell a small number of PDF guides in the shop. How we are paid.
